The Philippine National Red Cross marks its 65th anniversary this year. The voluntary relief organization, which holds office in Port Area, Manila, was created through Republic Act No. 95, and was inaugurated on April 15, 1947. Considered the premier humanitarian organization in the country, it provides services like blood donations, disaster management assistance and other social services.—Schatzi Quodala, Inquirer Research
