FOUR Cebuanos in the Philippine Military Academy’s Class 2012 paid a courtesy call to the Capitol last Friday afternoon.
Ensigns Melvin Goles of Minglanilla and Kristian Josh Gingoyon of Mandaue, 2nd Lt. Teresita Ingente of Basak Pardo, Cebu City and 2nd Lt. Jose Mari Cabrera, the class salutatorian, were lauded by Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia.
“You make Cebu proud. The PMA opens the door of opportunity and it becomes a way of life,” she said. Garcia also told them to be “models” for the youth.
The visit of the four Cebuano PMA grads was followed with a visit by AFP commandant of cadets Brig. Gen. Carlos Quita and the PMA cadets of 2015.
The governor cited her administration’s campaign against insurgents in her second term and how Cebu became insurgent-free in 2010.
The PMA Class of 2015 also composed of 190 cadets watched a special performance from the inmates of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC). The PMA cadets will set sail today for Davao City. Correspondent Carmel Loise Matus
