Caap completes maintenance under 2 hours with no flight disruptions
MANILA, Philippines — The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (Caap) on Wednesday said that the two-hour maintenance conducted during the morning was “successfully completed.”
According to Caap in a statement, the maintenance, which began at 2 a.m., finished at around 3:13 a.m.
“The work did not affect the Philippine airspace. Air traffic controllers reported no flight disruptions during the maintenance operation,” said Caap.
The Philippine Air Traffic Management Center has returned to normal operations.
However, continuous monitoring and fine-tuning of the Communications Navigation Surveillance Systems and Air Navigation Service are still being conducted.
To recall, Caap initially scheduled the maintenance for six hours or from 12 midnight to 6 a.m. on May 17 but shortened it to minimize the effects on the Philippine airspace.
