MANILA, Philippines — A total of P7.5 billion will be alloted for  the mid-year bonus of 227,832 Philippine National Police personnel, the PNP Public Information Office (PIO) announced on Tuesday.

PNP Chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. said that the funding was derived from the appropriations for the police force from the 2023 national budget.

“The [PNP] has released funds totaling Php7,544,095,221.00 to pay for the mid-year bonus of 227,832 active duty PNP personnel,” said the national police PIO in a statement.

According to the PIO, the mid-year bonus ids equal to one month’s salary.

Police personnel with pending cases or facing sanctions, however, will have their bonuses deferred.

“The mid-year bonus serves as a testament to our commitment to our personnel’s welfare. It is an acknowledgment of their dedication and sacrifices, especially during challenging times. We hope that this bonus will provide them with additional support and encourage them to continue their noble service to our nation,” Acorda said.
