MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday reported 12,414 new COVID-19 cases from May 8 to 14, which is 31 percent higher than the recorded infections last week.

Of the said number, 53 patients were tagged as having  “severe and critical” infections.

This caseload also accounts for daily average cases of 1,773.

Last May 1 to 7, the DOH logged 9,465 cases.

No deaths were reported from May 1 to 14.

As of May 14, 437 patients were in “severe and critical” condition.

Meanwhile, of the 2,093 ICU beds for COVID-19 patients, 394 (18.8%) were occupied. Of the 17,454 non-ICU COVID-19 best, and 3,791 (21.7%) were in use.

As of Monday, the Philippines reported a total of 4,116,925 cases, including 15,895 active cases, 4,034,577 recoveries, and 66,453 deaths.
