DATU HOFER, Maugindanao del Sur, Philippines – An employee of the National Irrigation Administration and his daughter survived an ambush in Barangay Labu-Labu in this town on Monday.

The local police reported that Ismael Gudal was driving his vehicle when he was attacked by several gunmen ambushed near the Labu-Labu Bridge not far from an Army checkpoint at around 6:30 a.m.

Gudal was driving his daughter to school in Esperanza town in Sultan Kudarat province when ambushed.

The gunmen fled on a motorbike.

Personnel of the Datu Hofer Municipal Police Statopm, headed by Capt. Ramillo Serame, conducted an investigation at the crime scene.

“Investigation is ongoing,” Serame said in a radio interview. “No one was hurt,” he added.
