Fair weather weekend expected in most parts of PH; ITCZ still near S. Mindanao
MANILA, Philippines — Fair weather condition is expected in most parts of the country this weekend, but the state weather bureau warned that an intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) was spotted near the southern parts of Mindanao.
Weather updates from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Friday afternoon showed several cloud bands along the ITCZ, which sits near the Zamboanga Peninsula.
However, Pagasa clarified that the ITCZ would have no widespread effect in the country. Also, no low-pressure areas or tropical cyclones were seen near or inside the Philippine area of responsibility.
For Saturday, Pagasa said that warm weather is expected in Luzon in the morning, but isolated rain and thunderstorm may occur by afternoon and evening.
Temperatures would remain high in Tuguegarao at 26 to 35 degrees Celsius; Metro Manila, Puerto Princesa, and Legazpi at 26 to 33 degrees; Laoag at 26 to 34 degrees; Baguio at 18 to 25 degrees; and Tagaytay with 23 to 32 degrees.
Article continues after this advertisementSimilar conditions are expected for Visayas and Mindanao on Saturday, with temperatures ranging from 26 to 33 degrees Celsius in Tacloban; 27 to 33 degrees in Cebu; 27 to 32 degrees in Iloilo; 25 to 36 degrees in Zamboanga; 25 to 33 degrees in Cagayan de Oro; and 26 to 35 degrees in Davao.
