Manila policemen killed one of the two men who allegedly held up a 35-year-old woman as she was waiting for a jeepney ride to Quiapo on Friday.
Members of the Manila Police District station in Moriones, Tondo, were on routine patrol when Maribeth Dumawit, of Kasipagan Street, Tondo, approached their car and pointed to the fleeing suspects.
The MPD team said the two suspects fired back during the pursuit.
Marlon Espinar, 25, a member of the Commando Gang and resident of Dagupan Street in Tondo, was killed on the spot in what police said to be a shoot-out, while his cohort escaped.
