3 nabbed in Bicol buy-busts

LEGAZPI CITY — Three suspected drug personalities were arrested in separate buy-bust operations on Friday, May 5, in Albay and Camarines Sur provinces, police said in a report Saturday, May 6.

Lieutenant Kharren Formales, Albay police spokesperson, said that Mark Joseph Botalon and Emil Ebrada, both 21 years old, were arrested in Barangay (village) San Roque in Tabaco City around 7:44 p.m.

Formales said a sachet of shabu (crystal meth) worth P5,644 was confiscated in the said operation.

Meanwhile, in Canaman town in Camarines Sur, Elmer Ballesteros, 39, was also arrested in Barangay (village) Haring around 12:40 p.m.

Colonel Julius Caesar Domingo, Camarines Sur police chief, said the authorities recovered a medium sachet of shabu worth P500 from the suspect who was tagged as a street-level drug peddler.

During the body search, another sachet of shabu was recovered from the suspect.

All suspects are facing charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
