Romualdez confident that Marcos’ US trip will help uplift Filipinos

MANILA, Philippines — House Speaker Martin Romualdez on Saturday said that he is confident that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s visit to the United States (US) will positively affect the lives of Filipinos.

Romualdez said that Marcos’ visit had generated over a billion dollars worth of investment pledges, as well as prospective job opportunities.

“I am confident the lives of many of our Filipino brothers would soon be touched and transformed by the fruits of his official visit to the US,” Romualdez said in a statement.

The House Speaker had joined Marcos Jr. on his US trip as part of his delegation and said that the President worked to promote the interest of the country during the trip.

“He wasted no time and seized all opportunities to engage with US government officials and key business leaders to secure meaningful benefits for our people,” Romualdez said.

The House Speaker assured that there will be tangible benefits from the visit and that the House of Representatives will support the President’s initiatives.

“To this end, the House of Representatives is committed to pass measures to improve existing legal framework to facilitate the entry of foreign investments, thus enhancing our country’s competitive advantage in attracting foreign capital and businesses to create better-paying jobs for our people and sustain our economic growth,” Speaker Romualdez said.
