The AO also says that other government agencies will serve as members of the task force, namely the Departments of Tourism, Education, National Defense, Information and Communications Technology, Trade and Industry, Budget and Management, Labor and Employment, and Transportation, and the Metro Manila Development Authority.

This year’s Independence Day anniversary will have the theme “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan” (Freedom, Future, History). It will be the first Independence Day celebration under Marcos Jr.’s administration.

The government said the 125th Independence Day aims to “focus on the freedom that our forebearers struggled for towards that they dreamed for the country and the history that we seek to remember and honor them with.”

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin signed AO No. 8 on Tuesday, May 2, in Manila.
