Police eyes parking altercation for grenade blast in cop's home

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur — One person died while three others were injured on Monday when a motorcycle crashed with a pickup vehicle in Kumalarang town, Zamboanga del Sur.

A police report said the incident happened around 7 p.m. at Purok 2, Boyugan West.

Investigation by the Kumalarang police showed that the motorcycle driven by Emar Isidro Molo, 18, came from Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay on its way to Diplo village of Kumalarang.

The pickup vehicle, driven by Ruel Daguya, 29, of Diplo, was found to have no headlights. The pickup vehicle, according to the police, overtook one utility van and was at the middle of the road when it crashed with the motorcycle.

One of Molo’s passengers, Arcio Isidro, died on the spot while the three others were rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment. Daguya was placed under Kumalarang police custody for the filing of charges.
