OLONGAPO CITY — The Department of Education Schools Division Office of this city suspended classes in all schools due to a scheduled power interruption on Wednesday.

Imelda Macaspac, assistant schools division superintendent, released an executive order last week advising class suspension after the Olongapo Electricity Distribution Company Inc. (OEDC) announced maintenance activities in their power lines.

Macaspac advised the schools to hold modular distance learning to “ensure that learning competencies are still met” during the suspension.

In an advisory, OEDC said the power interruption from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m on Wednesday would allow the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines to isolate the power transformer serving Olongapo to conduct preventive and corrective maintenance. INQ
