MANILA, Philippines — The YouTube account of state-owned media outlet People’s Television Network (PTV) was hacked on Tuesday.

PTV PH’s official YouTube account has been compromised and was renamed to “Tesla Live” in the afternoon of May 2, 2023. PTV is currently taking all necessary measures to recover the account and is contacting YouTube to resolve this matter,” it said in a Facebook post Tuesday afternoon.

The network assured the public that it secured all of its online accounts, and that all of its other videos can still be viewed on other platforms.

In a later post at 5:25 p.m., the media outlet said that it has successfully recovered its account on YouTube.

“PTV Digital has swiftly acted upon the matter and our official account has already been reverted to PTV Philippines. Our account is currently being monitored by our platform managers,” it said.

It has yet to be determined who was responsible for hacking the account.
