MANILA, Philippines — Authorities on Tuesday arrested a 34-year-old man in Quezon City for stabbing his live-in partner and friend in a fit of jealousy.

In a report, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said the stabbing incident occurred at suspect Julio Ordinario Navarro’s home along Sinagtala St. in Barangay Matandang Balara during his birthday celebration on the evening of May 1, 2023.

Police report said Navarro and his live-in partner Jenalyn Maja Gaan invited their friend Niño Francis Enseñada Delos Angeles to drink and celebrate with them.

However, the suspect got irked when he noticed that Gaan and Delos Angeles were seemingly close to each other, prompting Navarro to grab a kitchen knife and stab them both in the stomach.

After this, the suspect rushed the victims to Rosario Maclang Hospital for medical treatment.

The guard on duty at the hospital reported Navarro to the Batasan Police Station personnel, who immediately responded and arrested him around midnight on May 2.

The 12-inch kitchen knife the suspect reportedly used to stab his live-in partner and their friend was confiscated from him.

QCPD said Navarro would be charged with frustrated homicide and referred to the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
