Over 23,500 workers boarded MRT-3 Labor Day ‘Libreng Sakay’

The MRT-3 registers its highest number of daily passengers in more than two years at 396,345.

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Transportation (DOTr) reported a total of 23,527 workers both from the private and public sectors benefited from the “Libreng Sakay” (free ride) program in Metro Rail Transit – 3 (MRT-3) during the observation of Labor Day on May 1, 2023.

More than nine thousand or 9,486 individuals availed of the free ride from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., while over fourteen thousand or 14,041 more benefited from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

“Nakapagtala naman ang MRT-3 ng kabuuang 201,321 na pasahero na sumakay ng linya kahapon,” said DOTr.

(MRT-3 also recorded 201,321 passengers who rode the train lines yesterday.)

“Isang mainit at makabuluhang pagbati para sa lahat ng manggagawang Pilipino sa kanilang pagdiriwang ng Labor Day. Nawa sa aming Libreng Sakay ay naiparamdam ng MRT-3 ang aming pasasalamat at pagbibigay-pugay sa inyong hindi matatawarang sipag at sakripisyo para sa ating bansa,” said MRT-3 Officer-in-Charge Jorjette Aquino.
