MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) registered a total of 4,456 in the last week of April, higher than the 3,148 cases recorded the week before.
According to the DOH’s latest report released Tuesday morning, the infections translated to a daily average of 637, 42 percent higher than the 450 daily average cases recorded from April 17 to 23.
This is also already higher than the daily infections projected by the DOH by May 15 at 289 to 611.
Another 22 or 0.49 percent of the total recorded infections were also tagged as critical or severe, with active critical or severe COVID-19 admissions currently at 351.
Despite the rise in cases, no deaths were added to the country’s death toll.
Meanwhile, the utilization of ICU beds increased from 13.7 to 15 percent, as well as non-ICU bed utilization rate from 17.4 to 18.1 percent during the same period.
Based on the DOH’s online COVID-19 tracker as of April 30, the country’s total COVID-19 caseload is currently at 4,093,421, with 4,021,102 recoveries and 66,444 deaths.
Active cases, meanwhile, are currently at 5,875.
