Naia Terminal 3 power outage affects 186 passengers in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY – More than one hundred passengers were stranded at the Zamboanga City airport after a flight to Manila was canceled at noontime due to a power outage at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) Terminal 3.

Jimmy Santos, officer-in-charge of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) at the Zamboanga International Airport, said 186 passengers were affected.

“Only one flight was canceled. Other flights were not affected,” Santos said.

Affected passengers of Cebu Pacific flight 5J860, which was supposed to leave here at 10:1 a.m. and arrive in Manila at 12:10 p.m., were advised to rebook, reroute, or refund their tickets.

Cebu Pacific issued an advisory at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, May 1, that electricity at the NAIA Terminal 3 had been restored.

The airline also announced that other flights that were canceled on May 1  included 5J 391/392 (Manila p Cagayan De Oro -Manila),  5J 581/582 (Manila – Cebu 0 Manila), 5J 977/978,  (Manila – Davao – Manila) and 5J 629/630 (Manila – Dumaguete –  Manila).
