MANILA, Philippines — A huge part of the country can still expect hot and humid weather conditions this weekend as easterlies or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean continue moving towards the eastern waters.
Weather updates from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Friday showed however that rains may be experienced over the eastern side of Visayas and Mindanao — particularly over Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region — as cloud clusters were seen forming in the area.
Pagasa also said that localized thunderstorms may cause rains in different areas for a short period of time.
For Saturday, temperatures are expected to remain high over Luzon. For Metro Manila it will be between 25 to 35 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao with 24 to 36 degrees; Laoag with 25 to 31 degrees; Baguio with 18 to 25 degrees; Tagaytay with 23 to 30 degrees; Legazpi with 26 to 33 degrees; and Puerto Princesa with 28 to 33 degrees.
Temperatures for the eastern side of Visayas and Mindanao would be lower, playing between 26 to 31 degrees Celsius over Tacloban, 27 to 30 degrees in Cagayan de Oro, and 25 to 32 degrees for Davao. In contrast, Cebu and Iloilo would have temperatures of 27 to 32 degrees and Zamboanga with 25 to 34 degrees.
No gale warning has been raised in any part of the country, which means small boat operators and fisherfolk may freely set sail. However, Pagasa said that sea conditions over waters west of Central Luzon and those surrounding the Ilocos Region would be moderate.
