Alleged drug group member shot dead in Quezon province

LUCENA CITY — A suspected member of a drug syndicate was shot and killed on Thursday, April 27, in Tiaong town in Quezon province.

The Quezon police reported that Joey Malabanan, 34, was on his way home around 5 p.m. in Barangay San Agustin when two armed men repeatedly shot him without any provocation.

Investigators identified the alleged gunmen as Ruel Exconde and Eugenio Panganiban, both residents of the locality, who fled after the shooting and left their target dead.

The police tagged the victim as a member of the “Brando Flores Drug Group.”

Investigators said the killing was “drug-related” but did not elaborate.
