MANILA, Philippines — Maynilad Water Services announced that cities of Parañaque, Pasay, and Cavite, will continue to face daily water service interruption until May 16 due to low water production.

Maynilad in an advisory on Tuesday night, attributed the low production level to the turbidity level of raw water in Laguna and a leak in its ultrafiltration valve.

“Our customers in portions of Parañaque City, Pasay City, Cavite City, Noveleta Cavite, Rosario Cavite will have water service interruptions daily from April 25, 2023 until May 16, 2023,” said Maynilad.

“This is due to low water production owing to the combined effect of renewed spikes in the turbidity level of the raw water in Laguna Lake, and a leak that formed on the ultrafiltration backwash valve of the Putatan Water Treatment Plant 2 following prolonged exposure to highly turbid raw water,” it added.

Meanwhile, Maynilad assured the public that it had already ordered the repair of the leaking valve.

“Once the materials arrive, we will schedule the facility repair and provide the necessary updates, including the schedule of interruption for when the repair works will commence,” said Maynilad.

The water provider then urged affected customers to store enough water supply on times it is available, also reminding them to let their water flow out briefly until it clears, upon the resumption of water services.

Mobile water tankers have also been deployed to affected areas to deliver potable water, while stationary water tanks have already been installed in several areas.
