MANILA, Philippines — The processing of the first step of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) will be handled anew by the main office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) after the processing venue along Batasan Road in Quezon City was renovated.

The processing was temporarily done at the QC-X Building of the Quezon Memorial Circle. “Step 1” includes the review of initial documents and the issuance of a schedule to the beneficiaries for the next steps in their requests for financial assistance from the government.

AICS includes requests for financial assistance for medical, hospital bills, transportation, and burial. The DSWD said the processing of requests will be from Monday to Friday, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

AICS is a “stop-gap mechanism” to support families and individuals reeling from an unexpected crisis, such as illness or death in their families.
