MANILA, Philippines— Amid hot weather conditions, several parts of Luzon can expect quick rain showers due to localized thunderstorms this weekend, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja, in an early morning update, said rain showers are possible in the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) and Bicol regions, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region as well as in Metro Manila.
“Mga localized thunderstorm po ito, walang kinalaman sa anumang weather disturbance,” Estareja said on Friday.
While Luzon can expect fair weather on Friday morning, temperatures may rise to a maximum of 37 and 35 degrees Celsius in Tuguegarao and Metro Manila respectively, the state weather bureau said.
Pagasa also predicts that wind coming from the North Pacific Ocean will lightly tame the heat in Northern and Central Luzon.
(On Sunday and Monday, it is possible that wind will come in from the north east or from the North Pacific ocean. This will slightly decrease temperatures in Northern and Central Luzon.)
