Maynilad Water suspends water interruptions
Maynilad Water Services Inc. has suspended prolonged service interruptions in its concession area, following the additional allocation granted by the National Water Resources Board (NWRB).
Maynilad head of corporate communications Jennifer Rufo on Thursday said the suspension was effective on April 18 for areas served with water coming from Angat Dam.
The suspension covers some portions of Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela, Pasay, Manila, Parañaque and Quezon cities in Metro Manila.
Earlier this week, the NWRB approved an additional allocation of 2 cubic meters per second to allow more water to flow into Maynilad’s service area.
Rufo noted, however, that service interruptions would continue in parts of Cavite City, Rosario and Noveleta in Cavite province, as well as Las Piñas City in Metro Manila, to give way to “intensified cleaning” of filters in the Putatan water treatment plants. —MEG J. ADONIS
