2 alleged NPA members die in clash with military in Negros Occidental

Two suspected members of the New People’s Army (NPA) were killed in a series of encounters with government troopers in the different parts of Negros Occidental on Thursday, April 20.

BACOLOD CITY — Two individuals believed to be members of the New People’s Army (NPA) were killed in separate encounters with government troopers across Negros Occidental on Thursday, April 20th.

An alleged rebel was killed while two government soldiers were injured in an encounter between the 79th Infantry Battalion (IB) and the NPA in Escalante City at about 10:45 a.m.

Soldiers recovered in the area an M-14 rifle, three rifle grenades, three 40mm grenades, and personal belongings of the NPA.

Another suspected communist rebel was killed in an encounter with the 94th IB at the boundary of Isabela and Binalbagan on Thursday.
