Power now fully restored in Makati CBD, other areas hit by outage
MANILA, Philippines — Electricity has been fully restored in several areas of Makati City, including its Central Business District (CBD), after an outage early Thursday that affected at least 20,000 customers, the Manila Electric Railroad and Light Company (Meralco) said.
According to Meralco, the power supply interruption in Barangays Pio del Pilar, Bel-Air, and San Lorenzo at around 11:42 a.m. happened after some of its lines in the Legaspi electrical substation “tripped.”
Earlier, the power firm estimated that complete electricity restoration might take some three hours. But Meralco said power returned in the affected areas after a little over an hour.
