Cop linked to Teveses denies participation in family's allegedly illegal operations

CEBU CITY — A policeman who reportedly worked part-time for the Teveses in Negros Oriental denied any participation in the allegedly illegal activities of the family.

Tabuelan Municipal Police Station officer-in-charge Capt. Allen Germodo said Tuesday that it’d been a while since he was assigned to Negros Oriental.

“I will go to the Senate to clarify the matter,” he told reporters.

Germodo served as chief of the Sta. Catalina Police Station in 2020 and was named head of Zamboanguita town police in 2021 – both in Negros Oriental.

In a Senate hearing on Tuesday, one of the witnesses alleged that Germodo was responsible for collecting income from e-sabong and small town lottery (STL) allegedly owned by the Teveses.

Suspended Negros Oriental 3rd District Rep. Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves was linked to the killing of former governor Roel Degamo and eight other persons in Pamplona town on March 4.

Cebu Provincial Police Office’s deputy director for operations, Lt. Col. Mark Gifter Sucalit, said they would wait for their higher-ups to order what should be done to Germodo.
