Maynilad to suspend water interruptions

Maynilad Water Services Inc. will finally suspend prolonged service interruptions this week following the provision of additional supply from Angat Dam in Bulacan province, an official announced on Monday. Maynilad president and chief executive officer Ramoncito Fernandez said they would implement a gradual suspension to ensure enough supply would flow to its concession area. “We have been monitoring the water releases since [Sunday], and the water levels are stabilizing … Once stabilized, we expect the suspension of water interruptions,” Fernandez said. The suspension is among the conditions set by the National Water Resources Board in granting an additional allocation of 2 cubic meters per second from Angat and into Ipo and La Mesa dams.
