JC’s Jonathan So and Carlito Macadangdang are among 2023’s ‘People of the Year’
Franchise kings Jonathan So and Carlito Macadangdang hope their success in rebuilding their business during the pandemic will inspire other Filipinos in their drive to succeed.
JC and House of Franchise (HOF) executives So and Carlito Macadangdang were recently named by a leading magazine among 2023’s People of the Year.
So and Macadangdang were behind the successful establishment of HOF, home of some of the countries most recognizable franchises, including toktok, Siomai King, Mang Boks, Potato King, Sgt. Sisig, Burger Factory, Noodle House, and Boy Bondat.
“I hope this will always inspire us to do better and serve better, not just for ourselves, but our community and our country,” Macadangdang said.
For his part, So said: “I would like to thank our franchisees and partners and all the staff because, at the end of the day, we could not have succeeded in this journey – especially during the pandemic – without the right people with us.”
To be awarded People of the Year is no feat for kindergarten buddies So and Macadangdang. Their business empire has expanded in food, wellness, and transportation logistics and since then has been helping thousands of Filipinos earn a decent, steady income, especially during the pandemic.
They were honored during a night of glitz and glamour at the Grand Ballroom of Hilton Manila together with other awardees like Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, Sabin M. Aboitiz, Senator Grace Poe, Small Laude, Steven Tan, Margie Moran, Lesley Mobo, Dr. Bernadette Madrid, Consul Helen Ong, and George Royeca.
