3 dead, 2 wounded in Calbayog City gun attack

 

TACLOBAN CITY – Three persons, including a 14-year-old girl, died while two others were wounded in a shooting incident in Calbayog City, Samar on Friday.

The fatalities were identified as Vicente Luzong, Jr. 45; Angelo Lustico, 43; and Rachel Ann Bolinao, 14.

The injured victims were identified as Lane Dealagdan and Emy Casaljay, village secretary of Barangay La Paz.

The Calbayog City police reported that the victims were on board separate motorcycles when they were ambushed by seven armed individuals in Barangay Victory at about 4:30 p.m.

The report added that the suspects, who used long and short firearms, fled on foot towards a hilly part of Barangay Victory.

The shooting incident happened when the motorcycle carrying the Luzongs, Vere, and Bolinao stopped after the older Luzong requested to urinate.

The other vehicle where Lustico, Dealagdan, and Casaljay were riding, happened to pass by the area when the shooting incident happened.

Further investigation is ongoing.
