Quezon town engineer wounded in shooting incident

LUCENA CITY – The municipal engineer of San Narciso, Quezon was shot and wounded by a lone gunman on Friday.

Mark Rivera, 29, officer-in-charge of the local government’s engineering office, was driving a motorcycle in Barangay (village) Maguiting at around 5:30 p.m. when the gunman suddenly shot him with a caliber .45 pistol., the Quezon police said in a report.

The gunman fled after the shooting, leaving Rivera with a gunshot wound to the left forearm. He was taken to San Narciso Municipal Hospital for treatment.

The victim’s sister, his back-rider, was not wounded in the shooting.

Further investigation and pursuit operations against the gunman are ongoing.
