MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila and four other areas in Luzon will experience overcast skies and scattered rain on Friday due to the low-pressure area (LPA), which was once Tropical Depression Amang, said the state weather bureau.
In a late afternoon weather forecast on Thursday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA was last monitored near Infanta, Quezon.
“Iyong LPA ay inaasahan natin na makakaapekto pa rin sa malaking bahagi ng Luzon. Maaring bukas ng hapon o gabi ay tuluyan na itong malusaw,” said Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio.
(We expect that most of Luzon will still be affected by the LPA. The LPA may completely dissipate by tomorrow afternoon or evening.)

But he noted that the LPA will still trigger sporadic rain showers in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon), Mimaropa (Marinduque, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Palawan, Romblon), and Camarines Norte.
On the other hand, Aurelio added that fair weather with chances of brief and isolated rainfall prevails over the rest of the country.
Pagasa listed the expected range of temperature in the following areas on Friday:
• Metro Manila — 25 to 30 degrees Celsius
• Baguio — 17 to 24 degrees Celsius
• Laoag — 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
• Tuguegarao — 24 to 33 degrees Celsius
