LUCENA CITY — Classes in public and private schools in Laguna province and two towns in Rizal province were still suspended on Thursday, April 13, due to bad weather brought by Tropical Depression “Amang.”
On Wednesday night, April 12, Laguna Governor Ramil Hernandez announced on his Facebook page that the classes (in-person and online) in public and private schools at all levels will remain suspended in the entire province Thursday due to the inclement weather.
However, no towns in Laguna were placed under typhoon signals by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) in its Thursday 8 a.m. bulletin.
In Rizal province, Governor Rebecca “Nini” Ynarez, said on her Facebook page early Thursday that classes (in-person and online) from kindergarten up to Grade 12 including Alternative Learning System (ALS) in public and private schools in the towns of Tanay and Pililla remained suspended as the two municipalities were still under Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 1 as of 5 a.m. Pagasa bulletin.
The Pagasa, in its latest report said Amang was last located over the coastal waters of Jomalig, Quezon with maximum sustained winds of 45 kph and gustiness of up to 55 kph.
Signal No. 1 remains hoisted on northern and western portions of Camarines Norte (Santa Elena, Capalonga, Paracale, Jose Panganiban, Vinzons), the southern portion of Aurora (Dingalan, San Luis) and the northern and eastern portions of Quezon (Calauag, Infanta, Plaridel, Quezon, Alabat, Sampaloc, Mauban, General Nakar, Perez, Gumaca, Atimonan, Real, Lopez) including Pollilo Islands.#
