Signal No. 1 in 8 Luzon areas due to TD Amang; rain expected in Metro Manila
MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 is up over eight areas in the country due Tropical Depression Amang, state meteorologists said Thursday morning.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Amang is also expected to trigger rain in areas without storm signal warnings, including Metro Manila.
“Yung mga kaulapan is concentrated pa rin dun sa labas nung sentro ng bagyo, particularly sa western at northern portions ng Bagyong Amang so makakaranas tayo ng pag-ulan dito sa malaking bahagi ng Cagayan Valley, as well as Central Luzon, NCR, Calabarzon, and mga kalapit na lugar dito sa Mimaropa,” said Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja.
(The clouds are concentrated outside the center of the storm, particularly in the western and northern portions of Tropical Depression Amang, so rain is expected in large parts of Cagayan Valley, as well as Central Luzon, Metro Manila, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Querzon) and nearby areas in Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan).
