MANILA, Philippines – Two suspected hijackers were killed in a shootout with police in Pampanga before dawn Thursday, a spokesman for the Philippine National Police said.
Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr. said the still unidentified suspects were killed after engaging police in a firefight around 1:45 a.m. along Barangay (village) San Jose Mitla in Porac.
He said the suspects were declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
Recovered from the crime scene were three empty shells from two caliber .38 revolvers loaded with seven live ammunition, two empty shells from an M16 armalite rifle, three empty shells from a caliber .45, one set of acetylene and oxygen tank, manifold gauge, van, and the hijacked 10-wheeler truck.
