OCD raises highest response protocol in areas expected to be hit by TD Amang
MANILA, Philippines — The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) on Wednesday raised the highest “Emergency Preparedness and Response” (EPR) protocols in Calabarzon, Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas due to the effects of Tropical Depression “Amang.”
According to the OCD, the EPR is categorized into four categories: “Charlie” which refers to high-risk protocol, “Bravo” for moderate risk, “Alpha” for low risk, and “Standby” for none to very low risk.
The Charlie protocol includes activating emergency operations centers to red alert, class and work suspension, forced evacuations, and advanced augmentation of resources.
In an incident report, the OCD said that EPR “Charlie” is currently imposed in Calabarzon, Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila, Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon are under Bravo EPR protocol, while Caraga is on Alpha.

Article continues after this advertisementAs of 3 p.m., Amang was last spotted over the coastal waters of Lagonoy, Camarines Sur, packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 55 kph.
