OLONGAPO CITY — More than P2.5 million worth of illegal drugs were confiscated in various areas in Central Luzon during weeklong operations, the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) said.

The PRO3 reported on Tuesday that authorities in the region carried out 114 anti-narcotics operations from April 1 to 7, resulting in a drug haul amounting to P2,557,134 worth of illegal drugs that were mostly “shabu” (crystal meth) and marijuana.

During the same period, 159 drug suspects were arrested.

The intensified campaign to capture fugitives in the region also resulted in the arrest of 156 of the most wanted persons.

The PRO3 said 16 others were collared for illegal possession of firearms, while 146 more were arrested for illegal gambling during the same period. INQ
