CEBU CITY — A radio commentator has been arrested by police officers for alleged possession of an unlicensed firearm and illegal drugs in Cebu.

Authorities said Eric Pagar, 58, was nabbed in his house in Barangay Poblacion Ward 2, Minglanilla town, south Cebu on Monday, April 10.

Pagar was the subject of a search warrant issued by Executive Judge Dennis Larrobis of the Regional Trial Court Branch 76 in the City of Naga, Cebu, authorities added.

According to Minglanilla Police Chief Major Arieza Otida, they decided to apply for a search warrant after receiving complaints from Pagar’s neighbors, who claimed they were being harassed by the radio commentator whenever the latter was intoxicated.

“We received reports that the subject allegedly and frequently harassed his neighbors using his unlicensed firearms (every time) he is under the influence of alcohol and allegedly under the influence of illegal drugs,” Otida said.

The police recovered from Pagar’s possession three unlicensed firearms, live ammunition, a replica of a caliber .45 firearm, an air gun, and 7.5 grams of suspected shabu.
