US combat chopper lands in Batanes
TUGUEGARAO CITY — A US Osprey helicopter carrying American soldiers landed at Basco Airport in Basco town, Batanes province on Monday, April 10.
But Batanes Gov. Marilou Cayco clarified in a statement that the soldiers arrived for “quick parachute diving practice within the island-province area.”

The training is part of the Balikatan military exercises between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the US.

“We would like to clarify that these have nothing to do with the ongoing tension between China and Taiwan,” Cayco said.
She added: “Let’s not spread any false information that gives fear to our countrymen.” INQ
