LUCENA CITY — Four boat passengers were rescued from their vessel that capsized in Lamon Bay in Quezon province on Sunday, April 9.
The Quezon police said a Facebook post by a concerned citizen at around 8 p.m. alerted the authorities about a capsized boat in Lamon Bay in Atimonan town.
A rescue group from Alabat Island town rushed to the site and found the victims adrift alongside their boat.
The rescued passengers were identified as Godfrey Almojar, 45, the boat captain; and crew members Rolly Onoya, 20; Mark Aron Mafe, 18; and Engelbert Magon, 44, all residents of Alabat.
Almojar said the boat left Atimonan port for Alabat when strong waves battered it causing their vessel to capsize around 7 p.m.
