MANILA, Philippines — After going through the effects of being overworked, Dr. Tricia Robredo, the daughter of former vice president Leni Robredo, urged everyone to take good care of one’s health and establish a healthy balance between work and personal care.

In a social media post on Saturday, Robredo shared how her routines ended up affecting her negatively and how being overworked affected her physical health.

“For the past few months, I’ve grown obsessed with my smart watch, my planners and unsustainable routines. Busier was better and I had to be mobile every waking minute,” said Robredo.

“My physical health took a beating for it this week, and it was by far the scariest thing I’ve had to deal with since living alone. I couldn’t eat, I couldn’t even drink.I was very weak,” she added.

She said she used to believe that the idea of self-care was abused and overused, but this experience reminded her that this is not always the case.

“I respect and subscribe to the hustle but productivity has been dangerously over glorified. [I don’t know] if [I will] fall into that cycle again, but I’m dropping this as a reminder that it comes at a cost,” said Robredo.

“So take care of yourselves friends, may we all find balance,” she added.
