MANILA, Philippines — Seven Chinese fugitives were denied entry into the country by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) after the Chinese government informed local authorities of the aliens’ criminal offenses.

Seven Chinese crew members of the “distressed fishing vessel” Kai Da 899 in the waters off Eastern Samar were intercepted by the BI after failing to provide proper documentation.

The BI identified the fugitives as Tang Rixin (alias Tong Yat Sun), 63; Mai Bolin (alias Mak Pak Lam), 55; Chen Zhewei, 48; He Chengjun, 41; Liu Jianping, 36; Shi Junning, 52; and Lei Dengzai, 34.

Both Rixin and Bolin are Hong Kong nationals while the rest are from mainland China.
