LEGAZPI CITY, Albay, Philippines — The body of a missing 16-year-old girl who was swept away by big waves while swimming at a public beach resort was found after six hours of search and retrieval operations in San Jose town in Camarines Sur province on Saturday, April 8.

San Andres earlier reported that the bodies of five other victims — three of them minors and residents of Goa town and Naga City — were recovered along the seashore in Barangay  Dolo at around 9:30 a.m.

A 12-year-old girl survived the incident.

“That area is really deep [during high tide], that’s why we really advise the beachgoers to be careful, especially since it is not a private resort,” San Andres said.
