MANILA, Philippines — The low – pressure area (LPA) east of Mindanao has a slim chance of intensifying into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Saturday.

The LPA was last spotted some 1,455 kilometers east of northeastern Mindanao, outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), said the state weather bureau.

“Ito’y nasa labas pa rin ng PAR sa ngayon at mababa pa rin ang tsansa maging bagyo in the next 24 hours ngunit hindi natin ina-alis yung possibility na maging bagyo ito sa susunod pang mga araw,” said Pagasa weather forecaster Patrick Del Mundo.
