Parking dispute eyed in grenade blast at cop’s home – police
ZAMBOANGA CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, Philippines — Police investigators here are looking into the possibility that a parking altercation led to the grenade blast in the house of their colleague.
Lt. Col. Alexander Lorenzo, city police director, said that still unidentified persons threw a grenade at the house of Corporal Sharmine Acuna Serrano, 28, a duty officer assigned at the Zamboanga City Police Office, at around 5:48 a.m. on April 3.
No one was reported hurt in the blast except for the damage to a car parked at the Serrano residence in Triplett Road, Barangay Canelar.
Lorenzo said it is highly likely the attack is connected to an altercation that Serrano had over parking vehicles in their neighborhood.
Lorenzo added that witnesses told investigators there were two motorcycle-riding persons who were responsible for throwing the grenade near the Serrano home.
