All of 10 Pasay jail escapees recaptured, says SPD

All of the 10 inmates who escaped from the Pasay jail facility on Monday have been rearrested by authorities, the Southern Police District (SPD) said on Tuesday.

MANILA, Philippines — All 10 inmates who escaped from the Pasay jail facility on Monday have all been recaptured by authorities, the Southern Police District (SPD) said on Tuesday.

On Tuesday afternoon, police returned Richard dela Cruz to jail.

The same day, police took Romeo Estopa, Carlo Magno, and Norman Deyta back into custody.

On Monday, police detained Christian Salvatierra, Joey Hernandez, Eden Garcia, Tirzo Galit, Joshua Panganiban, and John Michael Cabe again.

The inmates escaped Malibay Detention Facility in Barangay 152 at around 4:30 a.m. on Monday.

The SPD said they managed to storm out of the facility after they busted their cell’s iron bar, overpowering and mauling the duty jailer. After the assault, they stole his service firearm and assorted prison cell keys from him.
