5 killed in fire that razed 3 houses in Pangasinan

The body of a faculty member of the Pangasinan State University (PSU) was found floating in the Linoc River in Binmaley town, Pangasinan province on Thursday (Jan. 26), police said.

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — Five persons, three of them children, died when a fire that gutted three houses at midnight on April 3, authorities said.

Investigators identified the fatalities as Keziah, 1; Mackarie, 2; Mackenzie, 6; Dexie Ann, 34; and Mark, 34, all with the surname of Villanueva.

The relationship among the victims was not known immediately.

Police said the fire broke out from the victims’ house and then spread to two other houses from where the residents managed to escape.

The Bureau of Fire Protection was still trying to determine the cause of the fire and the amount of damage. INQ
