MANILA, Philippines — Hundreds of Catholic devotees flocked at Quiapo Church on Sunday in view of the Palm Sunday, which marks the first day of the Holy Week.

The devotees also gathered at the Quiapo Church to attend the first Palm Sunday mass, which began 4:30 a.m. until 8 a.m.

Church officials said the schedule of masses continues from 4:00 a.m. to 12 noon, as well as 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

With the celebration of Holy Week, Filipinos are also set to enjoy a long holiday as the Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Black Saturday fall on April 6, 7 and 8, respectively.

The Day of Valor, or locally known as the Araw ng Kagitingan, is then set to be celebrated on Monday, April 10.

This means that the public will have a five day holiday from April 6 to 10.
