Expect cloudy skies, isolated rains over eastern part of Mindanao due to easterlies
MANILA, Philippines — Parts of Mindanao, particularly those on the eastern side, will experience cloudy skies and isolated rain showers due to the easterlies, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on its Friday afternoon update.
Pagasa said in its weather report that the easterlies, or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, are causing clouds to form over Caraga, Northern Mindanao, and some parts of the Davao Region.
But aside from the cloud bands, no significant weather disturbance is expected as skies are clear for most of the country, while no low-pressure area is being monitored near or within the Philippine area of responsibility.
For Saturday, temperatures would remain warm over Tuguegarao at 24 to 34 degrees Celsius; Laoag at 24 to 32 degrees; Metro Manila with 24 to 33 degrees; Baguio at 17 to 25 degrees; Tagaytay at 22 to 32 degrees; Legazpi with 24 to 31 degrees; and Puerto Princesa with 26 to 33 degrees.
Temperatures over Cagayan de Oro would be slightly colder than the rest of Visayas and Mindanao due to the cloudy conditions, ranging from 25 to 30 degrees Celsius, whereas Cebu and Iloilo would have something between 27 to 32 degrees; Tacloban with 25 to 32 degrees; Zamboanga with 24 to 32 degrees; and Davao with 25 to 33 degrees.
No gale warning has been raised, which means that small boat operators and fisherfolk can set sail freely.
