MANILA, Philippines — Two locals from Mindanao have recently won and claimed their multi-million peso lotto jackpot prizes at the main office of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) in Mandaluyong City.
In a statement issued Friday, PCSO said a bettor from Bayugan, Agusan Del Sur, won the Mega Lotto 6/45 jackpot prize worth P12,171,239 and claimed her prize last March 13.
The winner, who has been a lotto player for almost two decades, had a winning combination of 26-43-11-18-05-45.
According to PCSO, the winner plans to deposit her money in a bank and think of ways to use and spend her prize.
The second bettor from Davao City, Davao Del Sur, claimed her prize last March 16. She is the sole Grand Lotto 6/55 jackpot prize winner worth P29,700,000.
The PCSO revealed that the second winner had a winning combination of 45-29-12-03-26-51. She has been a lotto player for over 15 years and has previously won several consolation prizes.
In an interview with PCSO officials, the bettor said she would use her winnings to start a business selling motorbike parts and services. She also plans to acquire real estate properties from her winnings.
Based on the Tax Reform Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law, 20 percent tax will automatically be deducted from the winner’s jackpot prize.
Meanwhile, PCSO reminded that “winners have one year from the draw date to collect their prize or it will be forfeited and will form part of the PCSO Charity Fund,” as stated under Republic Act 1169.
